- Payment information: your card details are entered into a secure field hosted by our payment processor, Stripe, and are sent directly to Stripe. UWCF does not receive or store your full card number.
- Technical information: basic data such as your browser type and general usage, which may be collected automatically to keep the site secure and working.
How we use your information
- To process your donation and manage recurring gifts.
- To send you a donation receipt (issued by Stripe) and, where appropriate, acknowledgements for tax purposes.
- To respond to your questions and communicate about our work, where you have asked us to.
- To maintain records required for our operations as a tax-exempt organization.
Payment processing
Donations are processed by Stripe, Inc. Your payment is handled under Stripe's own terms and privacy policy, available at stripe.com/privacy. Your card information is transmitted directly to Stripe over an encrypted connection.
How we share information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share information only with service providers who help us operate (such as Stripe for payments and our hosting provider), and only as needed to provide those services, or where required by law.
Data security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect your information. Card data is handled by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified provider. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data retention
We keep donation records for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described here and to meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements.
Children's privacy
Our site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
You may contact us to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, or to stop receiving communications. To cancel a recurring donation, contact us at the address below.
